Pure Water        When I got a handle on the fact that I did have depression, then I was finally able to make choices to bring myself out of it. It is understood that some depression can be directly related to lower levels of chemicals in the brain. And only by supplementing that level is it possible to begin beating depression. What I then saw was that my mind was able to run efficiently. But the fuel or the thoughts that were going into my mnd was still mostly negative or not helpful to my thinking well. So what happens then is I fall back into the depression.

What needs to happen is to make the choice to put thoughts into your mind that are helpful to you. Remember the glass half full idea of how we see life? If you see glass half full then you are optimistic and hopeful. If you see it as half empty then society sees you as a pessimist. So in beating depression let’s take this a little bit farther. Pretend that the glass is totally full, not one more drop will fit into the glass. BUT all the water is dark as if colored by dark food coloring. Believe me some thoughts in a depressed person’s mind is very dark indeed. Every day new thoughts bombard each of our minds.I learned that a person can have from 12 thousand to 55 thousand thoughts each day. If each thought that we allow into our minds is like a drop into the glass then the dark water in the glass makes that thought to be like all of the others dark and full of hopelessness.

Link: 55 Thousand Thoughts per Day

The blessing in beating depression is that we can change the color of the water! We are what we spend most of our time thinking about. If we think only dark thoughts then we remain in the depression. If we think the pure thoughrs of pure water then our thinking is crystal clear and we are constantly hopeful This I learned to do myself by carefully considering the many thoughts that come into my mind and allowing only the ones that are helpful and hopeful. The helpful thoughts can be seen as pure clear water. As I allowed more and more pure helpful thoughts into my mind then the dark thoughts slowly got pushed out of my mind. While it took me three years to replace all the dark water in my mind I can see how it can be done much faster. How about make a choice to throw out all the dark water that fills the thought glass in our minds ALL AT ONCE? Choose not to give those dark thoughts any more time or place in our thought life. Choose to only think thoughts of helpful and hopeful ideas that are the pure water to fill our glass! By choosing to think this way then beating depression will soon be a winning game for you just like I have.

The best way to get into the habit of allowing only pure water thoughts is to choose to put those thoughts into your mind at first. There are some free books and some free information at White Dove Books. This is where I was able to begin and I enocourage you to start your winning game there too. Winning Takes Action

Winning Takes Action

This page is an action page…. because that is exactly what is needed to beat depression now and every day from now on. You can find the causes and symptoms of depression on many other well qualifies sites. I will also put that information here in a couple days. But for now this is about seeing you take hold of your own day to day experiences and get them going on the right track.

Beating depression is not a one time mountain top victory. It is an every day overcoming of the thoughts that scream out to you about all that is not right in your world. The screaming and yelling that only you can sense can be made quiet by taking steps one moment to the next that makes things better for you.

Do I have the qualifications to lead the path? Oh Hell Yeah! I am not a doctor of any kind. But as some people would say: “I’m a Thinker” and that is what sets up the continuation of depression that can be beat. My history is on the about page here so if it is important to you then check that out. Just know that the guy on that page is history no longer a part of the winning me.

The first part of beating depression is knowing TRULY knowing where you are. This part of the action is just to use a pen and paper or the laptop notepad in front of you and make two lists of who you are one with all the negatives that scream at you already. Then put that away for an hour,or a day even. Then do some action something: take a fast walk, clean the bathroom, make your bed for the first time in weeks. Any take action step is the right one. Then come back, without looking at the first list and take a quiet moment and ask your mind and your heart what are the positives of who you are. Perhaps you are a good listener, lots of us depressive types are good listeners. I bet you are good at seeing the best in everyone else too. Use that gift to see the best in yourself! Keep adding two to four word descriptions of all the qualites in yourself that make you an exceptionally unique person.

Now you know your strengths and your weaknesses. The key is to make your strengths even stronger and to make your weaknesses to become only history. Take the negatives list and write a positive outcome for each of your negatives. Make this an independent page or list separate from the negatives list. My big one was that I was disorganized, stuff everywhere! So the positive outcome I keep in front of me is that I am Organized Competent and Driven. Yep OCD in its finest moment. After you have made positive outcomes for each of your negatives it is time for an amazing action step.

This step is very simple but very important. It will give you a sense of power that you have yearned for over a very long time. If the negatives list is on paper then crumple it, wad it, destroy it completely! And as your own unique hands take the action of destroying the negatives list, make your mind think of the positive outcomes list you made to replace it. If the list is on the computer screen then I recommend not just hitting the delete file button but actually set the cursor at the top of the page and park your finger on the DELETE key! As you watch the list get eaten by the binary ether then also set your mind to the positive outcomes you had written to replace the other list. ( Interesting side note: the computer language in its beginning was a series of Ones and Zeros not negatives. The first computer code geeks were Optimists! )

The take home message here is that beating depression is about REPLACING negative thoughts, habits, and actions with positive actions that create positive thoughts, habits, and actions. And that is what this page is about: giving you what I found that helps to put the right spin on your life to come out of the dark and become a creator of light.

For these first steps I offer to you some free information that is completely amazing. To replace the negative thoughts you need to have strong positive thoughts to replace them permanently. The free downloads at White Dove Books is what put me on the track toward beating depression

So this is the jump point for you to make this a winning game. More to come about why exercise is a great choice for beating depression as well as some of the other resources that you can use to keep you mind going toward winning every day.
